President Trump on Friday appeared to use the deadliest terror
attack in Egypt’s modern history to push two of his domestic
security proposals: a travel ban on certain Muslim-majority
countries and a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
“We have to get TOUGHER AND SMARTER than ever before, and we
will. Need the WALL, need the BAN!” Trump exclaimed in a tweet
noting he would soon reach out to Egyptian President
Trump issued the tweet after earlier announcing he would spend
part of the day
golfing with Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson at his
club in Jupiter, Fla. Trump is spending his Thanksgiving
holiday at his nearby Mar-a-Lago estate.

discuss the tragic terrorist attack, with so much loss of

Earlier in the day,
militants killed at least 235 people with gunfire and
explosives at a mosque in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. Many of the
victims were Sufis, who practice a form of Islam considered
heretical by some militant groups.
During the campaign, Trump called for both a massive wall along
the U.S.’s southern border and a temporary ban on all Muslims
from entering the country.
Trump has demanded that Congress fund the wall project, but
it’s unclear if Republican leaders will back the contentious
proposal and potentially
risk a government shutdown over it.
Courts have frustrated Trump by repeatedly blocking his
travel-ban executive orders, with the latest barring entry to
the U.S. to people from six Muslim-majority countries: Iran,
Libya, Somalia, Yemen, Syria and Chad. But last week, an
partially reinstated that latest iteration the travel ban.
